Hi, my name's Chris, I'm an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper and I own and manage Accounts Afloat, Accounting and Business Services.
I have over 20 years commercial experience working in a variety of roles within finance and operations within a large multinational organisation and running my own businesses.
Working as a commercial analyst my role centred around measuring the financial health of parts of the company. I was involved in analysing sales and costs to understand how the various costs impacted upon the overall profit margin and through the introduction and examination of key performance indicators, was able to utilise quality improvement techniques to improve performance and ultimately the profitability of the company.
In addition to finance and operations roles, I have been heavily involved in project management and systems implementation and integration. This involved the planning, implementation and monitoring of computer systems, their integration into existing company processes and facilitating the training of end users.
I have experience of setting up and running an e-commerce business within the low energy sector managing all aspects of the business including finance (bookkeeping), marketing, operations and sales. In conjunction with this, I ran a consultancy business developing and auditing Environmental Management Systems for small business clients wishing to improve their environmental performance.
When I'm not working on clients' books, I love the outdoors and can be found tinkering on my narrowboat or walking the dog around the beautiful Cheshire countryside. Originally from London, I moved up to Cheshire five years ago and was immediately struck by the warmth of the welcome received and the beautiful surroundings of the Cheshire countryside.
